Suspended Officer facing misconduct charges

The Saugeen Shores Police Service (SSPS) is aware of a series of videos posted on social media over the past week by a suspended member of the police service.

These videos attempt to undermine the Saugeen Shores Police Service’s ongoing commitment to the mental health and well-being of both our members and the public we serve. The content does not reflect the values, integrity, or the high standards of professionalism upheld by the Saugeen Shores Police Service.

The individual in question has been suspended with pay in accordance with the Community Safety and Policing Act since September 2024.  The member is currently subject to five disciplinary hearing processes and faces a total of 22 Code of Conduct charges.

Over the past several years, the Saugeen Shores Police Service has implemented comprehensive mental health initiatives, including enhanced training and protocols to improve responses to individuals in crisis, as well as supports for officers experiencing mental health challenges. We are proud of the efforts made to foster a positive and supportive workplace culture that prioritizes wellness at every level of the organization.

We remain transparent and accountable to our community and reaffirm our unwavering dedication to both public safety and officer well-being.

To maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigations, no further information will be released at this time.
