Dinner by Donation a Huge Success
-Dinner by Donation Event-
Message from the Chief of Police
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us at the “Dinner by Donation” community fundraiser held at the Southampton Golf and Country Club on December 21st 2024. It truly warms my heart to see so many attend in support of such a great cause.
The event was sold out and everyone that attended "paid" by way of a Gift Card of their choosing.
Thank you to Tim Panchyshyn and his very talented crew for preparing such an incredible meal. A huge thank you to everyone who worked hard to prepare, setup, serve, and entertain us.
It was absolutely delicious, and we’re lucky to have such a talented chef not only prepare the meal, but also plan the event for the community! Thank you Mini and Jennifer, for your assistance in planning and promoting the event, and to Kevin from the Southampton Golf and Country Club for the warm and inviting venue!
What made the evening so special, was the generosity and spirit of this amazing community. Your support—through donated gift cards and financial support, makes a huge difference for those who need a helping hand this holiday season.
The fundraiser brought in a total of 77 gift cards valuing $2,030 and a $5,000 cash donation from Roote’s Gas Bar! What an amazing community!
The Saugeen Shores Police Service will retain some of the gift cards to benefit our SSPS Contingency Fund that helps to provide immediate support to those in need. We will keep a stock of gift cards that can be handed out to those in need of a warm meal or clothing, to bridge the gap until social services can be activated and help with ongoing support. Other gift cards and financial donations will be given to the foodbanks in Saugeen Shores and Saugeen First Nation to purchase needed supplies, as well as the Salvation Army.
Everyone came together for a great cause, and it’s through these efforts that we’ll be able to make a difference. Sincere thanks to everyone for your generosity, your time, and your commitment in support of a stronger, healthier community this holiday season and the year ahead.
