Shoplifting Spree *UPDATE*

On August 3rd 2023 Saugeen Shores Police took a report from a local Grocery Store of a Theft that had just occurred. The suspects were no longer on scene.

During the investigation it was revealed that two men had attended the store and stolen just under $5,000 in Baby Formula and Electronic Toothbrushes and departed in an unknown vehicle.

A media release was put out and a zone alert was sent to neighboring Police Services to be aware of the incident and to report any similar crimes. Soon after, managers from other Grocery Stores began to contact Saugeen Shores Police to report that the same men had been in their stores and also had stolen thousands of dollars worth of items. A timeline was generated to track the incidents.

On October 2nd 2023 a 42-year-old male from North York was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police in Wingham, On. A second male, 43-year-old also of North York has also been identified.

These men have now been linked to at least 12 Theft incidents that have occurred between July 1st 2023 and October 2nd 2023 throughout Ontario. Total value of items stolen is believed to be upwards of $20,000.00

Warrants are now being sought. The investigation is ongoing.
