Drug and Weapons Charges
On June 21st 2023 Saugeen Shores Police responded to unknown trouble near the Port Elgin Beach. Through investigation, police were able to locate a black SUV on Goderich Street near Ivings Drive, believed to be involved in a serious incident. A traffic stop was conducted and three persons were identified. A check on all parties revealed that one of the passengers was wanted out of Grey Bruce OPP. The individual was arrested and upon further investigation Police located Methamphetamine.
All parties were arrested at that time. Further search of the vehicle, Police located open alcohol. The vehicle was towed to the Police Station for a more thorough search.
Several other drug related items were located inside the vehicle along with a large quantity of Methamphetamine, Cocaine and unidentified pills. A handgun style pellet gun was also located within the vehicle.
As a result of this investigation a 40-year-old from Desboro, ON and a 31-year-old from Elmwood, ON have been charged with several offences including but not limited to:
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Possession for the purpose of distributing, Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other drugs, Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Carrying a Concealed weapon.
They have been held for a Bail Hearing.
