Update to January 2nd Arrest – Break and Enter/Theft of Motor Vehicle
The following information is an update concerning the incident where a man broke into a residence in Southampton and stole a vehicle. He was arrested a short time later in Port Elgin.
The Bruce County man initially faced nine Criminal Code charges. The Saugeen Shores Police have now laid an additional two charges for:
- Robbery with violence
- Resist Arrest
The nine original charges face by the man are:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Break and Enter dwelling house
- Possession of Weapons Dangerous
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation while Impaired
- Mischief Under $5000
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Possession of Firearms or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Operation While Prohibited
The male is still in custody pending a bail hearing.
