Charges Laid in July 25th Motor Vehicle Collision
July 25th Collision Investigation Update
On July 25th the Saugeen Shores Police Service investigated two motor vehicle collisions on Green Street in Port Elgin.
The incident involved three vehicles at two separate locations on Green Street. The second location, at Harbour Street, resulted in serious injuries to one of the drivers. As a result this person was airlifted to St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators appealed to the public for information concerning these collisions. As a result of an investigation the seriously injured driver, a 26 year old Port Elgin, man has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired - Criminal Code 320.14(1)(a)
- Dangerous Driving – Criminal Code 320.13(1)
- Failure to Stop After Accident – 320.16(1)
