Traffic Safety Campaign - Intersections
Traffic Safety Campaign – Intersections
On May 28th the Saugeen Shores Police Service will be embarking on a two week traffic safety and enforcement campaign targeting intersections and crosswalks in Saugeen Shores.
Our traffic safety initiatives are heavily influenced from information we gather from calls for service and feedback we received on our various social media platforms.
Officers will be looking for offenders who do not come to complete stops at stops signs, running red lights, and motorists speeding up to ‘beat’ the red light. The charge for ‘running’ an amber light stop is $180.
As our downtown area starts to fill up with traffic officers will be looking for motorists who fail to clear an intersection, which is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act
There are many other offences and points of motorist education that officers will be targeting.
All of the same intersection rules apply to cyclists.
