Crime Prevention Week 2020
2020 Crime Prevention Week
On November 1st 2020 the Saugeen Shores Police Service will be kicking off Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week. This promotion, which runs until November 7, is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, the Ministry of the Solicitor General and, other police services across Ontario.
Some of the topics the police service will be highlighting are elder abuse, cyber crime, child exploitation and property crimes/break and enters.
Acting Inspector Jeremy Mighton referred to the African proverb ‘It takes a village to raise a child’. Mighton noted, “Similarly, when it comes to Crime Prevention it takes the community as a whole to do their part.” “Policing relies on strong community ties and everyone contributing for the greater good.”, added Mighton.
Due to restrictions on social gatherings, our service is limited to sharing information on our social media platforms.
