Traffic Safety Campaign
MEDIA RELEASE
Operation “Stay In Your Lane” is the Saugeen Shores Police Service’s latest traffic safety campaign.
Starting on Friday, August 28th officers will be looking for “aggressive drivers” on local streets.
“We are committed to road safety though accountability, enforcement, and public education. This traffic campaign will focus on the drivers that follow too close, make unsafe lane changes and drive much faster than the flow of traffic.”, remarked Deputy Chief Kevin Zettel. “The safe flow of traffic is the responsibility of every driver”, the Deputy added.
With the Labour Day long weekend quickly approaching, and being the unofficial last week of summer, officers are expecting a noticeable increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic on area highways.
Road safety is a core function of our police service. Help us make the roads safe by respecting traffic laws and others who share the road.
Operation “Stay In Your Lane” lasts until September 7th.
