Convenience Store Robbery 

On August 18 at approximately 8:45am a 23 year old male from Owen Sound entered a convenience store in Port Elgin. The male brazenly told the employee that he was going to steal items, while concealing them in full view.

The male threatened the employee when confronted.

The male fled the store and was pursued for a short distance by the employee.  Officers attended and viewed a video of the incident. 

At 1:35pm an officer from the Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit observed a male who fit the description of the suspect near a residence on Bricker Street.

Uniformed officers attended the area and located the male and placed him under arrest for Robbery.

While in custody the male threatened bodily harm to an officer.

An 23 year old Owen Sound man has been charged with:

  1. Robbery
  2. Utter threats to cause bodily harm
  3. Fail to comply with a probation order

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
