2020-15 Suspected Fentanyl Overdose
On March 24th at 9:03 pm officers were dispatched to assist paramedics at an address in Port Elgin. A 46 year old male was unresponsive and had suspected to have overdosed on drugs.
Officers arrived and located the unresponsive male in the residence. One the responding officers administered two doses of Naloxone (Narcan) with little affect. Paramedics soon arrived on scene and attended the male.
After being worked on by paramedics, the male eventually regained consciousness. He was transported to Saugeen Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
Officers seized a large quantity of suspected purple fentanyl.
All Saugeen Shores Police officers are equipped with life saving Naloxone.
