Arrest Made in Connection with Prowler Investigation
On November 26th, 2019 a man was observed by witnesses and captured on security cameras peering into two residences in Port Elgin. At the time of the incident a media release and screen capture was issued to the public appealing for assistance to solve the case.
Members of the Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit (CID) commenced a thorough investigation which involved analyzing video and collecting evidence from the crime locations.
A DNA sample was located at one of the locations. It was sent to the National DNA Data Bank for analysis. CID detectives obtained a positive hit of a known convicted offender whose profile was available in the databank.
On January 24th CID officers made an arrest of 38 year old Hanover man.
He has been charged with:
- Criminal Harassment – beset and watch complainant
- Breach of Recognizance
- Mischief – obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property
- Attempt Break and Enter Dwelling House
- Breach of Recognizance
The male was released with a court date.
