Impaired Driver Arrested in Southampton
Media Release – Impaired Driving
On November 3rd at 12:42am officers received call from staff at a licenced establishment in Port Elgin concerning a possible impaired driver.
Officers arrived at the establishment and discovered that an intoxicated male had left in a vehicle.
Moments later an officer located the male at an address in Southampton. The male displayed signs of being intoxicated by alcohol. He was placed under arrest for operation while impaired.
Then male was transported to the police station and turned over to a qualified breath technician. He provide two breath samples of 140 mgs and 150 mgs of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
A 47 year old Cambridge man has been charged with:
- CC 320.14(1)(a) Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- CC 320.14(1)(b) Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He was released on a promise to appear with a court date.
