Impaired Driving Arrest on North Shore Road
Media Release - Impaired Driving Related Offence
On September 1st, 2019 at 5:58am officers attended the area of North Shore Road in Port Elgin concerning a suspicious vehicle.
A 2014 pick-up truck was located parked on the shoulder of the road with the engine running. A man was seated in the driver’s seat sleeping. Officers woke the man and detected signs of alcohol consumption.
A roadside breath test of the man was administered that resulted in a fail. He was placed under arrest and transported to the station.
While at the station the man provided two breath samples that were at least double the legal limit.
A 20 year old Tiverton man has been charged with:
- Adult Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration
His driver’s licence was administratively suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He was released with a court date.
