Provincial Crime Prevention Campaign
“You Are Crime Prevention”
The Saugeen Shores Police Service is partnering with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) as they launch their 2019 Provincial Crime Prevention Campaign.
The OACP has developed a booklet called “You Are Crime Prevention” This publication was developed to empower and educate citizens with enhanced knowledge to prevent crime, protect property and keep our communities safe.
The booklet aims to raise awareness on types of crime including:
- Suspicious activities
- Cannabis impairment
- Financial scams (identity theft, credit frauds, online scams, phishing emails, auto insurance fraud.
- “Porch Pirate” the theft of purchases delivered to your residence and left in an unsecured area.
“Our experience as police officers tells us that the more you know and are aware of certain types of crime, the less likely you will become a victim.”, remarked Inspector Zettel referring to the OACP crime prevention booklet.
