Shoplifting and Arrest Warrant

On October 12th, 2018 a woman was captured on video surveillance in a local business concealing a pair of winter boots and leaving the store making no attempt to pay.

Investigating officers reviewed the video footage and positively a 26 year old Port Elgin woman as the culprit. She was located a short time later and arrested for theft and released on a promise to appear in court.

On October 18th, 2018 the same 26 year old women was apprehended by Saugeen Shores Police on a warrant of arrest for failing to appear in court, stemming from two shoplifting incidents in July and August of this year. In these two occurrences the woman was observed on video surveillance stealing a quantity of food from a Port Elgin business. Investigating officers positively identified her after reviewing video footage.

The woman was not released and was held for a bail hearing.
