Theft of Credit Card - Arrest
On October 31st, 2025, Saugeen Shores Police took a report of a theft from motor vehicle which was parked in the Town of Port Elgin. It was determined that a wallet containing bank cards had been stolen from the unlocked vehicle and that the credit cards had been used at various locations throughout Port Elgin.
Through the investigation, police were able to identify the accused, and a warrant was issued for their arrest.
On November 8th, 2025, Police took another report of vehicle entry where a wallet was stolen containing bank cards and identification. The bank cards were attempted to be used at a Port Elgin convenience store but had already been locked by the owner.
Through this investigation it was discovered that the accused was the same male from the incident reported on October 21st, 2025. A second warrant was issued for his arrest.
On November 10th, 2025, a 33-year-old male of Port Elgin was located and arrested on the strength of Saugeen Shores warrants. He has been charged with several offences including Use of Credit Card, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft of Credit Card, Theft Under $5000, and Failure to Comply with Probation.
The accused was also wanted by Owen Sound Police at the time of his arrest. He was released on an Undertaking for the charges by Saugeen Shores Police Service and custody was transferred to the Owen Sound Police Service.
Police would like to remind everyone to keep their vehicles locked and secured when not in use and to remove any valuables overnight.
