At 7:30am, police attended Walmart in regards to a theft.  A male had left the store with a cart of merchandise without paying.  Police viewed the video and were able to identify the male.  A male, age 29 years, from Saugeen Shores has been charged with theft.

At 9:55am, police attended a motor vehicle accident on Goderich Street in front of McDonald’s Restaurant. A driver exiting from McDonald’s was charged with Fail to Yield under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police are investigating a break, enter and theft at a residence on Woodland Drive.  Sometime between 8:30am and 3:15pm, the house was entered and cash and jewelry was stolen.  Approximately 5 rings were taken in the theft.  The house had been left unlocked during the day.

At 6:30pm, police checked a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot in Southampton.  The passenger in the vehicle was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant.  During the search after his arrest he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.  He also had a camera bag that was reported stolen to police earlier in June.  A male, age 25 years, from Kincardine, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of stolen property and Fail to comply with Probation.  A second male, age 18 years, from Hanover, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

June 25, 2017

At 6:00am, police attended at a residence on Goderich Street to assist ambulance after one of the occupants suffered 3rd degree burns from an accidental fire.  The victim suffered severe burns to her right shoulder, neck and face.  She was taken to hospital in Southampton and then subsequently airlifted to hospital in London for further treatment. It was later learned that she was in stable condition awaiting skin grafting treatment.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time but is believed to be accidental.

Please protect your property by securely locking your residences and vehicles.  Residents have been victimized by an organized group that are committing daytime break and enters.  They will look for buildings that are left unlocked or can be easily entered without making a lot of noise. If you observe suspicious persons or activity in your neighbourhood please contact police immediately.
