Unnecessary Noise Charges
On April 14th 2022, Saugeen Shores Police received several calls in regards to a large number of vehicles travelling through Port Elgin and Southampton honking their horns.
As a result of these calls for service Police attended the area and located several vehicles who were in violation of the Highway Traffic Act.
Saugeen Shores Police issued Provincial Offence tickets to drivers for the below offence:
Highway Traffic Act - Section 75(4)
Unnecessary Noise
- A person having the control or charge of a motor vehicle shall not sound any bell, horn or other signalling device so as to make an unreasonable noise.
Total payable Fine: $110.00
Police will continue to monitor similar situations and issue tickets when appropriate.
