Traffic Campaign Results
Traffic Safety Initiative - Intersections
From May 28th to June 11th the Saugeen Shores Police Service undertook a traffic safety initiative targeting violations at intersections.
Officers charged 29 drivers with various intersection related offences. In the same reporting period in 2020 officers charged nine motorists with similar offences.
The goal of publicised traffic safety campaigns is to reduce the number of infractions, overall, in a specific targeted enforcement area.
“When we put these initiatives out to the public, we hope drivers take a mental note of what we are targeting and what they are doing behind the wheel.”, remarked Sgt Evans.
The Saugeen Shores Police Service will continue to conduct targeted initiatives throughout the year. Traffic safety and enforcement is a priority of our service.
