Three Charged in Drug Trafficking Investigation

THREE CHARGED IN DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION

On January 19th 2021 at approximately 2:53pm Saugeen Shores Police conducted a vehicle stop in the town of Southampton for a traffic violation. A female passenger known to Police was observed to be seated in the vehicle and was arrested at that time for a previous Mischief incident. A male party was also observed in the back of the vehicle who was currently wanted on a warrant. Both parties were arrested without incident.

While speaking with the driver, police observed several items related to drug use within the vehicle. The male driver was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Saugeen Shores Criminal Investigation Unit applied for multiple search warrants which were granted and executed in the Town of Port Elgin, ON.

A 28 year old male of Bruce County has been charged with

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking x 2
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance x2
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order x2
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

A 24 year old male of Bruce County has been charged with

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking x 2
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance x3
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Possession of Prohibited Device for Dangerous Purpose

He was also charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Unlawfully in a Dwelling in relation to a previous media release on January 1st 2021

A 26 year old female of Saugeen Shores has been charged with

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking x 2
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance x3
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Possession of Prohibited Device for Dangerous Purpose
  • Mischief Under $5000 for a previous offence on December 22 2020

All three parties were held for a Bail Hearing on January 20th 2021
