Traffic Campaign "Operation - Slow Your Roll"

July 29, 2019

Media Release – Traffic Campaign

“Operation – Slow Your Roll”

The Saugeen Shores Police Service has been conducting various traffic enforcement and awareness/education initiatives this year.  Our last initiative “Operation Restrain Yourself” targeting the proper use of seat belts and child restraints, saw our officers lay 22 related charges.

The next traffic enforcement campaign “Operation – Slow Your Roll” will be targeting speeders in all areas of Saugeen Shores.  This initiative is in response to a social media post on the SSPS Facebook page concerning high speeds on Green Street in Port Elgin.  In the comment section many Facebook users expressed concerns about speeders in their respective neighbourhoods.  As a direct result of this feedback we created “Slow Your Roll”

The campaign will begin on Friday, August 2 in time for the Civic Holiday Weekend traffic and run to August 16th.

The Saugeen Shores Police Service continually identifies traffic safety as a service priority.  You can report incidents to our dispatch at 519-832-2500 or emergencies call 911.
