On Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 7:40pm an off-duty officer recognized a man who was wanted on several arrest warrants. The officer alerted on-duty officers who attended the area of the Port Elgin LCBO.
The man was spotted in a vehicle, with two women, driving on Goderich St. A vehicle stop was conducted on Highway 21 and Carlisle St. The man was arrested without incident.
The female driver of the vehicle was observed to be in the LCBO prior to the vehicle stop. She is known to be on release conditions from a previous charge. One of those condition is to not be in any LCBO. She was arrested as a result.
Officers observed evidence of drug possession and alcohol consumption. All occupants were arrested for possession of controlled substance.
A further search of the vehicle revealed several individually wrapped packages of crystal methamphetamine.
36 year old man from Cambridge has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
- Being unlawfully at large
- Fail to comply with probation – keep the peace and be of good behavior
- Fail to comply with probation – fail to attend intermittent jail sentence
- Fail to comply with a recognizance of bail – possession of alcohol
36 year old woman from Bruce County has been charged with:
- Fail to comply with an officer in charge undertaking
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
39 year old woman from Bruce County has been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – crystal methamphetamine
All were held for a bail hearing.
