Weapons and Shoplift - 30 Year Old Women Arrested

On February 24th, 2019 at 4:30pm an officer spotted a 30 year old Saugeen Shores women driving a vehicle in the area of Highway 21 and County Road 25.  The woman was known to police as a suspended driver resulting from court order.

A vehicle stop was conducted.  An at scene investigation revealed that the woman was in possession of an imitation firearm. She was placed under arrest and transported to the police station.  She was charged accordingly and later released with an court appearance.

On February 25th, 2019 the same woman attended a Port Elgin retail store where she was observed by staff to remove a jacket from a rack.  The woman tried on the jacket and left the store still wearing the item making no attempt to pay.

Officers located the woman at a nearby parking lot and placed her under arrest.  She was later released with an appearance notice to attend court.

As a result of both incidents the woman has been charged with:

  • Possession of an imitation firearm for a dangerous purpose
  • Driving while Under suspension
  • Theft Under $5000
