Impaired Collision
Southampton – On October 28th, 2018 at 7am officers responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Albert Street South in Southampton. Officers arrived on scene and located a heavily damaged 2005 Kia that had collided with and destroyed a Hydro Pole. Bystanders pointed out a person who was operating the vehicle when the collision occurred. Upon speaking to the driver officers detected signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside breath test was administered resulting in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the station for further testing.
At the station the driver provided two breath samples into an Intoxilyzer resulting in a fail.
A 23 year old Arran-Elderslie woman has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with over 80mgs of Alcohol in her blood. In addition to the criminal charge the woman was also charged with Novice Driver with a Blood Alcohol Content Above Zero and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance.
