Drug Possession Charges

MEDIA RELEASE –  Drug Possession Charges

On September 25, 2018, at around 11am, Officers were alerted by a concerned citizen that a male was parked in the Walmart Parking lot in Port Elgin and was asleep in the driver’s seat.  The citizen believed that the male was under the influence of drugs and that he would drive his vehicle when he woke up.

Officers attended the Walmart Parking lot and located the driver and vehicle.  The Driver was asleep behind the wheel and believed to be under the influence of drugs.  He was arrested for suspected Care or Control of a Motor vehicle while impaired by drug.

A search of the vehicle and driver located suspected Carfentanil, Fentanyl, Heroin, Crystal Meth, Marihuana and Steroids.

The Port Elgin man was charged with 3 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, 2 counts of Controlled Substance, and 2 counts of Property Obtained by Crime.  He was held for a Bail Hearing scheduled for September 26, 2018 at the Walkerton – Ontario Court of Justice
