On Thursday September 3rd at approximately 10pm, Saugeen Shores Police investigated a collision between a motor vehicle and a bicycle that occurred on Highway 21 between Port Elgin and Southampton. The driver of the motor vehicle reported that he was driving southbound when he hit a cyclist in the southbound lane of the highway.  The side rear view mirror of the vehicle struck the arm of the cyclist. The cyclist was taken to hospital, treated for minor injuries and released.

On September 4th at 1:17am, police received a report about an intoxicated person on the highway between Port Elgin and Southampton.  The complainant indicated that the person was trying to hitch hike and was all over the highway.  Police attended and arrested a 19 year old male for being intoxicated in a public place.  He was given a Provincial Offences ticket and released to the care of his parents.

On September 8th at 3:51 am, police received another complaint of an intoxicated person on Highway 21 north of Port Elgin.  Police attended and found a 15 year old male teen lying on the side of the road.  He was in a location where there was a high potential for being struck by a vehicle. He was extremely intoxicated and had a slight injury to his face from having fallen on the ground.  An ambulance attended and the teen was examined and released back to police.  He was later released to his parent.

On September 5th at approximately 11pm, police received a noise complaint about a party in Port Elgin.  The complaint was about loud voices and amplified music that could be heard from a long distance.  Police attended and attempted to have the person hosting the party to lower the noise level.  He refused to cooperate and began to incite the crowd against the police.  A 26 year old Saugeen Shores male was arrested and charged with mischief and two counts of obstructing police.

On September 7th, police arrested a 19 year old Saugeen Shores male for uttering a threat to cause death and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.  The accused had been in a licenced establishment in Port Elgin and had made a threat against the complainant.  When police arrested the accused he was also found to be breaching the conditions of an earlier release from custody.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
