Skateboard Theft

On March 24, 2009, police received a complaint from a youth about the theft of a skateboard from the Saugeen Shores skate park.  The theft occurred at approximately 5:00pm.  The skateboard had been left unattended at the park and was missing when the youth went to retrieve it.  The skateboard has black grip tape over the entire top of the board.  The bottom has a graphic of a skeletal hawk gripping the number 6.

ATV Operator arrested for Prohibited Driving

On March 28, 2009 at approximately 9:00pm, police received a complaint about an ATV being operated on a street in Southampton. Police attended and found an adult male and his son on the vehicle. Police investigated and learned that the male operator was disqualified from driving by reason of a court ordered prohibition.  He was also breaching a curfew condition of his probation.  He was arrested and charged with those offences.  The ATV was seized and impounded for 45 days under the provincial Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Break, Enter and Theft

Saugeen Shores Police are investigating a break, enter and theft that was reported on March 29, 2009.  Property was stolen from a storage unit located at a facility on MacKenzie Road in Port Elgin.  Between March 27 and March 29, locks were cut off the unit and four Pirelli tires and a red motorized scooter were stolen.  The lock was also cut off an adjoining storage unit.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saugeen Shores Police Service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
