December 26, 2016

Police were dispatched at 5:30am to a disturbance at the All Seasons Motel on Goderich Street.  After investigation, police arrested 3 individuals who had been in a dispute.  A female, age 44 from Meaford was charged with Uttering Threats and 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine and Marijuana).  A female, age 25, from Saugeen Shores, was charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and a male, age 25, from Kincardine was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Fail to Comply with Probation.

December 27, 2016

A resident on Stevens Street found a drone in his driveway and turned it into police.  The owner was located and the drone was returned.

Police received a report of a lost wedding ring.  The ring was lost on December 23rd.  It is described as a slim platinum band with hand carved ivy on the outside and an inscription on the inside.

At 10:00pm, police located a female, age 25, that had been reported missing by on December 26th.  The female and a male, age 25, were found in a vehicle in a parking lot at 510 Wellington Street.  They were found to be on conditions to not be associating with each other, as a result of the disturbance incident on December 26th.  The male was found to be in possession of Crystal Meth.  He was charged with Failing to comply with Probation, Failing to comply with an Undertaking and Possession of a Controlled Substance.   He was held in custody for a bail hearing.  The female was charged with Failing to Comply with an Undertaking and was released from custody.

December 28, 2016

Police received a complaint of mischief to a door on High Street in Southampton.  A street level door leading to upstairs apartments had been kicked in.  The incident is under investigation.

At 10:00am, police received a report of a stolen vehicle.  A female, age 20, from Saugeen First Nation, was later arrested and charged with Take Motor Vehicle without Consent and with Driving while under Suspension.

At 10:30am, police attended a motor vehicle collision on private property at the Colonial Motel in Port Elgin.  The driver’s foot slipped off the brake onto the gas pedal causing the vehicle to strike the wall of the motel.  This resulted in damages to the vehicle and the motel.

December 30, 2016

Police investigated a complaint about threatening text messages. A female, age 29, from Saugeen Shores was spoken to and cautioned about the messages.

At 9:00am, police attended a two vehicle collision at Huron and Peel Streets in Southampton.  There were no injuries.  A driver was charged with Failing to Stop for the Stop Sign.

A bicycle was reported stolen from the rear of McDonalds Restaurant.  The bike is described as being a black and red mountain bike with a kickstand.

Police received a report of mischief to a shed in the backyard of a property on Woodland Drive in Port Elgin.  Nothing was reported stolen or missing.

January 1, 2017

Police received a report of a motor vehicle collision that had occurred the previous day.  The complainant reported that he was driving west on Bruce Road 17 when an east bound vehicle crossed the centre line and clipped the rear view mirror of his vehicle.  The vehicle did not stop.  The complainant described the vehicle as a Ford F150, red, with a plate similar to 2604XP.  The incident is still under investigation.

Saugeen Shores Police had a quiet New Year’s Eve with only 5 calls for service.  There were no arrests or charges.
