27 February 2012

21 Feb 2012, at 10:53 am police stopped a vehicle on Railway St for speeding. Through investigation police seized a bag of unmarked cigarettes and further charged the 30 year old Guelph man with possession of Unmarked Cigarettes contrary to section 29 of the Tobacco Control Act

21 Feb 2012, police investigated a break and enter to an abandoned farmhouse on the Bruce Saugeen Town Line. Sometime overnight on the 20th of February culprit(s) stole approximately 20 storm windows valued at $300 to $400 dollars. No suspects.

22 Feb 2012, police stopped a vehicle on Green St., the officer believed the driver to be driving suspended. A 48 year old Port Elgin male was charged with Driving Under Suspension

22 Feb 2012, police arrested a 55 year old Southampton male for impaired driving. The vehicle he was driving is impounded for 7 days.

23 Feb 2012, at 8:16 pm Saugeen Shores Police stopped a female motorist wanted on a warrant from the OPP. She was arrested and turned over to the OPP.

Pc Chantel Primeau has been teaching the D.A.R.E. program at Port Elgin Saugeen Central School this week.

Police remind people to be aware of scams where you get calls on the phone from someone reporting to be from Microsoft wanting remote access to your computer. If you have a problem with your computer you are the one initiating a call to a service provider or to a repair place. Do not give out personal information over the phone, especially to one that called you.

24 Feb 2012, a person reported that sometime overnight on the 4th of February 2012, someone damaged a mirror on his pickup truck parked in the downtown core of Port Elgin.

24 Feb 2012, at 6:13 pm a 49 year old Niagara on the Lake man was arrested for Impaired Driving on Goderich St Port Elgin. The vehicle he was driving is impounded for 7 days.

25 Feb 2012, sometime overnight person(s) unknown threw pieces of brick at the rear windows on the construction site at 935 Goderich St. In all 6 windows were broken. No suspects.

25 Feb 2012, at 8:44 am police responded to a 2 vehicle accident at Goderich and Tomlinson Drive in Port Elgin. Two vehicles were northbound on Goderich St approaching a red light at Tomlinson Drive. The following vehicle could not stop in time and struck the rear of the first vehicle. Moderate damage was done to both vehicles. The driver of the following vehicle was charged with Following too Closely.

26 Feb 2012, at 11:30 am a Saugeen Shores male left his black vest containing a black IPhone and case either at the Winterhawk game or at the Wismer House on the Friday night. If you have located these items you can turn them into police.
