21 June 2011, at 10:27 pm police attended to a Southampton residence to investigate an assault. As a result of this investigation police determined one male threatened death to another and was brandishing a knife. A 20 year old Southampton male was arrested for Uttering threats to cause death.

The public is warned once again in regards to the “grandparent scheme”. Seniors are targeted with a phone call indicating one of their grandchildren is in legal trouble and they need money wired to them to help out the relative. Western Union is generally used by these criminals to have money wired to them. Before you send any money check with your relatives, you will find they have no idea what you are talking about. Please don’t be taken in by these criminals.

22 June 2011, at 12:29 pm (afternoon) a 37 year old Port Elgin male was arrested and charged with being intoxicated on the Port Elgin beach.

22 June 2011, police conducted RIDE on the North Shore Rd, 20 vehicles were stopped and numerous Highway traffic Act warnings were given.    

23 June 2011, police on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on Hwy #21 and subsequently charged the driver with Driving with no insurance, drive with an expired validation tag and fail to notify a change of address.

23 June 2011, 10:49 police in the downtown Port Elgin area observed a hand to hand drug transaction and intervened. A 16 year old Port Elgin male was charged with possession of marihuana.

23 June 2011, RIDE was conducted on Gustavus St, 30 vehicles were stopped, one charge under the Compulsory Insurance Act and several Highway traffic Act warnings were given.

23 June 2011, 12:57 am police stopped a vehicle for a traffic stop and observed a passenger dumping a beer out the window. The passenger received a ticket.

23 June 2011, 1:37 pm police conducted RIDE checking 65 vehicles, and issued 8 warnings, 2 Highway Traffic Act tickets, had one Liquor Act seizure and gave out numerous distracted driver pamphlets.

23 June 2011, 3:39 pm police conducted RIDE on Railway St in Southampton, approximately 300 vehicles were checked.

23 June 2011, police stopped a vehicle on Bartley Sideroad, the driver of the vehicle had been drinking and was a G2 Licence holder. He was charged accordingly.

24 June 2011, 1:05 am police observed a heavily intoxicated male in the downtown core of Port Elgin. A 22 year old Southampton male spent the night in jail.

24 June 2011, 2:48 am police observed two males preparing to urinate in an alley along Goderich St. The males were intoxicated issued tickets for being drunk and safely placed into a cab to go home.

25 June 2011, at 1:50 am a 38 year old Port Elgin male was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in the cells until sober.

25 June 2011, at 2:39 am police arrested a 44 year old Port Elgin male for public intoxication, he was issued a ticket and lodged in the cells until morning.

25 June 2011, at 9:18 police observed a male with an open can of beer in the area of the Port Elgin beach, the male also had in his possession a small amount of marihuana. He was charged with the liquor offence.

25 June 2011, at 11:45 pm police charged a 51 year old Saugeen Shores man with having open liquor in other than a residence. The male had open liquor walking along market St Port Elgin.

25 June 2011, at 10:41 pm police charged a 27 year old Port Elgin woman with open liquor on Waterloo St in Port Elgin.  

26 June 2011, at 12:28 am police charged a 26 year old London male with having open liquor on Elgin St Port Elgin.

26 June 2011, 12:39 am police arrested and charged a 27 year old Port Elgin male with Impaired Driving while operating a motorized scooter. The male was operating the scooter on the sidewalk along Goderich St Port Elgin. The male blew 3 times the legal limit, 240 mgms of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.

26 June 2011, 12:54 am police found a male passed out at Gustavus and Goderich St Port Elgin, the 24 year old male from Annan was intoxicated and spent the night in jail.

26 June 2011, at 1:28 am police arrested a 44 year old Southampton male for public intoxication, the male spent the night in jail.

26 June 2011, at 2:08 am police charged a 26 year old Port Elgin male with open liquor on Bricker St Port Elgin.

26 June 2011, at 12:21 police charged a 33 year old Brantford male with open liquor on Mill St Port Elgin.

28 June 2011, at 4:29 pm culprit(s) unknown dented a rear passenger door on a vehicle parked along Stevens St Port Elgin. No suspects.

30 June 2011, police conducted RIDE on Gustavus St. 45 vehicles were stopped with no infractions noted.

01 July 2011, at 12:31 am police stopped a vehicle in Port Elgin and the driver registered a warn on the roadside screening device. The 32 year old Mississauga male received a 3 day suspension.

01 July 2011, 6:44 pm police conducted RIDE along the North Shore Rd, 200 vehicles were checked. No impaired driving infractions were detected.

01 July 2011, at 10:42 pm police attended to a disturbance at the All Seasons Motel in Port Elgin. A 17 year old Simcoe male was arrested for public intoxication and upon his arrest he was in possession of a wallet that had been reported stolen. He was charged accordingly.

2 July 2011, at 2:33 am a 23 year old Lions Head male was observed sitting in the drivers side of a parked vehicle on High St Southampton. There appeared to be vomit outside the window. The male did not have keys for the vehicle and was arrested for public intoxication and spent the night in jail.

2 July 2011, at 2:46 am police attended to a call of a fight outside the Phoenix Lounge in Southampton. Two males from Southampton 16 and 17 years were arrested for public intoxication.

2 July 2011, at 2:48 am police located a 19 year old Port Elgin male passed out behind the Queens in Port Elgin. He was lodged in the cells overnight after throwing up in the cruiser.

2 July 2011, at 12:16 pm police conducted RIDE on County 13 in Southampton, approximately 150 vehicle were checked with no violators.

3 July 2011, at 12:08am a civilian caught a 16 year old Southampton male going through vehicles on Morpeth St Southampton, the youth was charged and released.

3 July 2011, at 2:26 am police attended to a disturbance outside the Queens in Port Elgin. A fight had occurred but no charges were laid as a result.

3 July 2011, 3:45 pm police attended to a complaint at the Port Elgin beach of dogs on the beach. One group of people were warned to dispose of alcohol. The officers dealt with the original complaint and observed that the people they warned had not heeded that warning. A 25 year old Port Elgin female was approached regarding open liquor and refused to identify herself. The female was arrested taken to the cruiser where she identified herself, was issued a ticket and released.
