March 28, 2011. 

Police received a report of a break and enter to the Port Elgin Tourist Camp building located on Johnston Ave in Port Elgin.  This entry was made to the main office building of the camp.  Subsequent to the initial report, police have investigated eight further entries to trailers in the local tourist camps in the Saugeen Shores area.

March 29, 2011.

Police are investigating a theft from a business in Port Elgin.  A witness observed two young males steal a jacket from a rack outside the Goderich Street business.  The theft was reported to a store employee who was then able to recover the item.  Police have determined suspects and are still investigating.

April 1, 2011.

Police were dispatched to a Port Elgin liquor licenced establishment in regards to a person that was refusing to leave the bar.  On police arrival it was found that the suspect had left the bar but had also tried to get back in. This person was located nearby and was found to be intoxicated.  He was arrested under the Liquor Licence Act and lodged in police cells.  While in custody the accused damaged a cell mattress.  He was charged with Mischief under the Criminal Code and with Being Intoxicated in a Public Place under the Liquor Licence Act.

April 2, 2011

A Saugeen Shores police officer apprehended and charged three persons with drinking and driving offences over a 32 hour period on the weekend.  The officer laid a total of seven charges from three different incidents.  One driver was charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with over the Legal Limit of Alcohol.  The second driver was charged with Driving with Over the Legal Limit and was also charged with the provincial offences of no insurance; no drivers licence and use an unauthorized licence plate.

The third driver was charged with Driving with Over the Legal Limit.

All three accused also received immediate 90 day administrative driverís licence suspensions and had their vehicles impounded for 7 days.

April 3, 2011

Police are investigating damage to a boat at the Port Elgin harbour.  The damage consisted of a broken window.  The mischief to the tug occurred between March 31st and April 3rd.
