14 March 2011

09 March 2011, police responded to a break and enter complaint at a construction yard trailer on Concession #10. Approximately $2500 in copper wire was stolen sometime over the past few weeks. On the 2nd of March 2011, police responded to a citizen complaint of a person who appeared to be stealing wire from a Barnes Ave construction site. Police arrested and charged Richard Tomlinson 45 years of Port Elgin with theft under, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break in instruments. Police continue to investigate.

11 March 2011, at 12:11 am police stopped a vehicle in Port Elgin driving in a suspicions manner. The vehicle driver a 37 year old Southampton female had no insurance on the vehicle, the validation tag had expired April 2010, and she was found to have 3 baggies containing approximately 29 grams of marihuana. She will appear in Walkerton court 11 April 2011.

12 March 2011, at 2:17 pm police received information regarding a person possibly drinking and driving. Dave Perdue 44 years of Walkerton was stopped operating a vehicle in the Port Elgin harbour area. Perdue had been drinking earlier and was driving while disqualified. He was charged with driving while disqualified and breach of probation and his vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

13 March 2011, at 4:05 am police stopped a vehicle on Concession #10. The female 35 year old Port Elgin driver provided a roadside breath screening and provided a reading over 50 mgms. Her licence was seized and suspended for 3 days.

13 March 2011, sometime overnight person(s) unknown entered an unlocked vehicle on Goderich St and went through the contents and damaged some of the wiring around the steering column.
