14 Feb 2011, at 11:01 pm police were called to Tim Hortonís in Port Elgin to a report of an 18 year old female passed out. Ambulance was called to check on her well being. She was arrested for public intoxication and held in the cells until her mother could attend to pick her up.

20 Feb 2011, a vehicle was stopped due to snow obstructing the exterior windows of a vehicle while driving in Port Elgin. The driver had an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and failed a roadside breath test. He was taken to the police office where he failed a breathalyzer. A 51 year old Port Elgin male faces impaired charges of Drive over 80 mgms and issued a 90 day Drivers Licence suspension, his vehicle was towed.
