12 October 2010

7 Oct 2010, an officer on patrol observing crosswalks in Southampton observed a driver talking on a cell phone while driving. The driver received a ticket under the distracted driver law, $150.00 fine.

7 Oct 2010, at 12:43 pm officers attended to Saugeen District Secondary School to a report of a fire alarm station being pulled. Three young offenders who had been drinking were charged with various offences. One was charged with causing a disturbance by being drunk, false fire alarm and assault police. A second was charged with causing a disturbance by being drunk, breach of probation. A third was charged with mischief for kicking and damaging a vehicle in the parking lot.

9 October 2010, sometime overnight on the 8th of October someone smashed a side window from a vehicle on Knowles Lane and stole a laptop and some games. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

9 October 2010, at 3:44 am a 32c year old Cargill woman was arrested for impaired driving. She refused to provide a breath sample and was charged with that offence. It should be noted the refusal carries the same penalty as over 80 mgms.
