26 April 2010

Police responded to 153 calls for service over this past week.

18 April 2010, police responded to the Canadian Tire store in Port Elgin where sometime overnight culprit(s) unknown entered the fenced compound in the parking lot and damaged two of the tents inside. Approximate damage to the tents is $1500., no suspects.

19 April 2010, police responded to a mischief complaint at Wilsonís yard on Bricker St. Sometime between the 16th and the 19th of April culprit(s) unknown threw rocks breaking seven windows in one of the buildings. No suspects.

21 April 2010, Durham Regional Police Service arrested Anthony GUYDOS on the strength of three warrants issued by Saugeen Shores Police for Break and Enter, assault and breach of probation. GUYDOS was returned to Walkerton Court for a bail hearing.

21 April 2010, at 2:15 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Waterloo St and Mill St in Port Elgin. A 2005 Honda Van was travelling south on Waterloo St when a 1997 Plymouth Van was travelling west on Mill St and failed to stop for the stop sign at Waterloo St striking the other vehicle. The driver of the offending vehicle received some soreness and was seen by ambulance, this driver also received a ticket for failing to stop at the stop sign.

24 April 2010, at 1:37 am police arrested a 38 year old Saugeen First Nation male for public intoxication in downtown Port Elgin.

25 April 2010, at 1:10 am police observed a male person passed out on Devonshire St. The 27 year old Port Elgin male was arrested for public intoxication and lodged in the cells until sober.

25 April 2010, at 6:31 am police responded to a report of a male passed out in the entrance to 550 Ivings Drive. The male had some minor injuries to his face and was looked at by paramedics. He was escorted to his motel.
